A variety of simple exercises using upbeat popular music from various decades with stretching and conditioning sections using exercise balls and a chair as a barre. A great way to improve flexibility, co-ordination, mobility, strength and balance for all ages and abilities whilst socialising at the same time. This class incorporates the more gentler elements of the ballet barre body conditioning and step, sway, releve classes. Class adapted to meet individual needs. If you have limited mobility or (are in a wheelchair) chairs are available to exercise on but still enabling you to take part fully in the class.
Whether standing or seated this Pilates Stretch and Barre class gives you a full body stretch using the principles of Pilates to centre on a whole body workout. Combines dance and Pilates standing or seated stretch exercises with barre standing or seated exercises using the chair as a barre.
Evidence has shown adults should do strengthening & balancing exercises twice a week alongside aerobic exercise'' Public Health England 2018 This class combines standing or seated strength & balance exercises with lower and upper body Tai Chi, Pilates & Ballet Barre exercises. Classes adapted to meet individual needs. If you have limited mobility or are in a wheelchair, chairs are available to exercise on but still enabling you to take part fully.
A slower based easier exercise class using swing styles such as jazz, swing, Charleston, rock n roll, Lindy Hop and jive. The great music of these eras helps to move your body, increase co-ordination, balance and energy levels making you feel fitter! All in a fun and welcoming environment. No dance experience needed. No matter what your age or ability this class suits all.
Standing stretches set to music which combines the use of exercise balls with some exercises. Similar to
a pilates class for that all over workout. Exercise for the mind as well as the body. Centres on the
core and whole body to help strengthen and tone your body in a gradual way whilst improving balance and
mobility.
Class suitable for all ages and abilities and can be done on the chair throughout if mobility is
limited. Great class if returning to exercise after having a baby, dislike exercising on the floor or
older age and want to maintain or improve flexibility and mobility.
Please note it must have been at least 6 weeks after having your baby to be able to take part in this
class. Wheelchair access is available.
A combination class that uses three different styles of exercise; dance, fitness and conditioning to improve muscle tone, core strength, balance, co-ordination and flexibility. Includes dance styles such as Swing, jive, salsa, lindy hop, cumbian, burlesque, pop.
The use of music and movement with older people, some of whom may have a form of Dementia/Alzheimer's,
has been linked to a way of awakening the mind and body. The use of scarves and balls in the classes I
run and the tactile nature of the fabrics seems to increase the engagement and always seems to put a
smile on a face!
Both classes have the option of being taken seated or standing.
Classes can be run in day centres, residential units, care homes, community centres or wherever the

Chair based exercise classes are a fun way for people of all ages and abilities including Dementia,
Parkinsons and mobility clients or those returning to exercise.
No matter what your age or mobility chair based exercise allows you to move and improve your core
strength, flexibility, mobility, co-ordination, fitness levels, health and well being. Uses equipment
such as small soft balls, scarves and hoops. They are a great way to do gentle exercise with varying
options of low/high movements on and off the chair set to music from different eras.

Combination class which combines a mix of standing Pilates stretch exercises, Swing dances, leg and core strength conditioning exercises for an all over body workout. Pilates stretch starts to unwind the body as you build up the moves in the Swing dances and centre on the core with the conditioning exercises.
Combines the graceful moves of ballet with conditioning exercises similar to Pilates. Exercise for the mind as well as the body. A simple way to tone your upper and lower body and feel you have worked out instantly. Works on strengthening your core, improves posture, flexibility, balance and pelvic floor muscles. Suitable for all ages and abilities including pre/post natal ladies.
